Some of you may remember that concept of the TOS Enterprise with the 'battleship style' turrets. I think it was last year's April's fool somewhere. Well, seeing as i hate the JJ';prise design, and quite liked that one, i thought i'd take the idea even further. My biggest problem with that one was, that it was the TOS Enterprise, while my big favourite is of course the TMP one. So here it is, a battleship-ized TMP Enterprise, taken to the extremes. If some of the hardcore Trek fans loathe this, no offence will be taken, i know it is very unconventional. But as a huge Star Wars fanatic, i'd so like to see Trek go in a direction like this...

You hated the JJ design? Jeez, am I really the only one that actually liked it the first time I saw it?

In any case, fantastic rendition you have here. For some reason the smaller size works well, and I like the new bridge design.

She's a beautiful ship, but one the TMP-era Gene Roddenberry would never approve of. (That's not to say he wouldn't steal certain design elements, if they proved popular- Roddenberry was that kind of an a**hole.)

Oh, does she have a forward shuttlebay door, and an angled flight deck, so she can simultaneously launch and retrieve shuttles?

I quite like this. Not too keen on the weird "trenches" on the top side of the saucer but the rest of it is neat. I particularly like the phaser turrets and real-world style bridge. It's an interesting reinterpretation, I'd like to see full elevations and possibly a 3D model.

I like your design, but you'll never see Star Fleet design go that direction. If you watch the directors cut of TWOK, on the extras DVD, Joe Jennings talks about it. He refers to Enterprise as the Cris-Craft of spaceships and that Star Fleet is smooth and sleek. I still like your design though, very cool.
